Ogbuenyi Chinedu Emmanuel aka Chantaman was born in Enugu in the mid 80s. He is the fourth born in his family from Ekwegbe in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. A graduate of Computer/Electronics Engineering from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
Chantaman who started singing in the church choir from his secondary school days is a versatile drummer and has worked with Oceanic Bank International Plc as an ATM field Engineer and have also worked with Computer Warehouse Group in the same position.
Chantaman started music professionally in 2008 and has performed in several Stages with some of Nigeria’s finest musicians. From the annual Calabar Christmas Festival to the River state Carnival “Carniriv’ to mention but a few. With a distinct sound nourished with street savvy ‘STREET ANTHEM’ his latest offering is set to redefine reggae music and chart a new course in modern day entertainment.
The clarity of his voice and his lyrical strength is an added recipe. By focusing on rhythms and life experience, Chantaman tries to approach a wide range of subjects in a multi-layered way to involve the listener in a simplistic approach. His works are notable for their perfect finish and mature nature. This is of great importance and bears witness to great craftsmanship.
